Joshua Milner is currently Professor of Pediatrics in the Institute of Genomic Medicine and the Director of Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He recently moved from the NIH where he was the Chief of the Laboratory of Allergic Diseases in the NIAID, and from where he took a yearlong sabbatical at Sourasky Medical Center and Tel Aviv University. He is a pediatric allergist/immunologist, and a physician-scientist. Dr. Milner's work is centered on how genetic variation can help inform diagnosis and care of all patients with allergic and immunologic disease. He has been elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians, and the Henry Kunkel Society. He has received the 2015 Phadia Allergy Research Forum Award, the 2017 Gale and Ira Drukier Prize in children’s health research, and the Society for Pediatric Research’s 2019 E. Mead Johnson Award. He has published more than 130 papers and serves on the editorial boards of numerous scientific journals.

Ana M Giménez-Arnau

Dr Giménez-Arnau is currently Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Universitat Autònoma and Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona and Consultant Physician in Dermatology and Venereology in the Department of Dermatology at the Hospital del Mar. She received her degree in Medicine and Surgery and completed her doctorate training (cum laude) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is board certified in Dermatology and Venereology. Her main research interests include urticaria and eczema, as well as contact dermatitis and atopic dermatitis.

Dr Giménez-Arnau is author of at least 223 international and 250 national scientific publications, including also textbooks on Contact Dermatitis, Atopic Dermatitis, Urticaria and Therapy in Dermatology.

She is member of at least 16 Scientific Associations including the European Society of Contact Dermatitis (secretary from 2007–2012), European Society for Dermatology Research, European Academy of Dermatology, European Dermatology Forum, European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (member of the Dermatology board) and American Academy of Dermatology. Dr Giménez-Arnau has been an external expert for the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) for hair dyes and cosmetics at the European Commission non-food Scientific Committee. She is Spanish representative for the Dermatology section of the Union Europeen d´Especialite Medicales (UEMS) and at the COST Action- Standerm on prevention of Occupational Skin Diseases.

Nevertheless, she prefers to be presented mainly as a clinician involved daily in patients’ care and in any educational activities that contribute to spreading the best knowledge of Dermatologic conditions, which are the basis of her clinical research.

Kimberly Blumenthal, MD, MSc

Kimberly Blumenthal, MD, MSc is an Allergist/Immunologist and drug allergy researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.  She is the Co-Director of the Clinical Epidemiology Program within the Division of Rheumatology Allergy and Immunology and the Quality and Safety Officer for Allergy at the Edward P. Lawrence Center for Quality and Safety. Dr. Blumenthal performs drug allergy research that uses methods of epidemiology, informatics, economics, and decision science.  Her research is funded by the NIH/NIAID, AHRQ, and foundations, including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Foundation and CRICO, the risk management foundation.  Dr. Blumenthal is recognized nationally for having identified the morbidity and mortality associated with unverified penicillin allergy labels and creating innovative approaches to the evaluation of penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotic allergies in the hospital setting. Dr. Blumenthal has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications including manuscripts published in high-impact journals such as Lancet, JAMA, and the BMJ.

Dr. Blumenthal graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Economics.  She studied medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, before training at the Massachusetts General Hospital for Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology. She completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2017.

Prof. Eran Elinav, M.D., Ph.D. is a professor at the Department of Immunology, Weizmann Institute of Science, and since 2019 the director of the cancer-microbiome division, at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ), Heidelberg, Germany. His labs at the Weizmann Institute and DKFZ focus on deciphering the molecular basis of host-microbiome interactions and their effects on health and disease, with a goal of personalizing medicine and nutrition. Dr. Elinav completed his medical doctor’s (MD) degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Hadassah Medical Center summa cum laude, followed by a clinical internship, residency in internal medicine, and a physician-scientist position at the Tel Aviv Medical Center Gastroenterology institute. He received a PhD in immunology from the Weizmann Institute of Science, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Elinav has published more than 150 publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, including major recent discoveries related to the effects of host genetics, innate immune function and environmental factors, such as dietary composition and timing, on the intestinal microbiome and its propensity to drive multi-factorial disease. His honors include multiple awards for academic excellence including the Claire and Emmanuel G. Rosenblatt award from the American Physicians for Medicine (2011), the Alon Foundation award (2012), the Rappaport prize for biomedical research (2015) the Levinson award for basic science research (2016), and the Landau prize (2018). Since 2016 he is a senior fellow at the Canadian Institute For Advanced Research (CIFAR), since 2017 he is an elected member, European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) and an international scholar at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)  and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
